Have information about who threw Molotov cocktails into an Ogden LDS church in May? You could end up $5,000 richer, if you share it with investigators.

On Wednesday, the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and Ogden Police Department jointly announced the reward. They want details leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the blaze at 1590 13th Street.

Sometime during the night of May 5, several incendiary devices were thrown through a window, igniting a fire that heavily damaged the building's kitchen area. No one was injured and firefighters were able to contain the flames to the kitchen.

Andrew L. Traver, Special Agent in Charge of the ATF in Denver, said his agency and Ogden Police Chief Mike Ashment's detectives and the city's fire investigators are committed to bringing the perpetrators to justice — but they cannot do it alone.

"We are asking the community to come forward with information that could help provide leads to perfect a criminal case against those responsible for this senseless act," Traver added.
