Canyons Resort July 3rd Celebration

Canyons Resort and its partner, People's Health Clinic (the community-supported, volunteer-driven medical clinic that serves Wasatch and Summit counties) will kick off the July 3rd festivities at 3 p.m., with free family-oriented music and activities throughout the Resort Village. DJ Velvet will begin spinning tunes on the Mountain Stage at 5 p.m. The Soulistics will perform at 7:30 p.m. and the fireworks display is set to go off at approximately 9:30 p.m. Visit bit.ly/14SPcaQ for information. $5 for parking.

Riverton Town Days

The Riverton Parks and Recreation department will sponsor Riverton Town Days which includes a two-day carnival; a parade on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m., followed by a Jazz band concert and free movie. July 4 activities will include a flag-raising ceremony and breakfast, races (10K, 5K, 1K), 25-mile bike ride, ATV rodeo, children's games and fireworks at 10 p.m. Visit recreation.rivertoncity.com/community_center.html for information.

Tooele festivities

Tooele will kick off its July 4th celebration on Wednesday with free karaoke at 4 p.m., a Corvette Car Show at 5 p.m. and the Bit N Spur Rodeo with Mutton Bustin' and Rodeo at the Deseret Peak Complex at 7 p.m. July 4th activities start with 5K Run 7 a.m. at Skyline Park, a Chamber of Commerce Breakfast at Veterans Memorial Park (Main & Vine); a parade at 9 a.m. on Tooele's Main Street, and then park activities and entertainment after the parade. South Salt Lake events

The City of South Salt Lake will hold its annual Freedom Fest on Wednesday, and 4th of July Parade on Thursday. There will be fireworks Wednesday at the old Granite High School campus. The July 4th Parade starts at 9:30 a.m. at the LDS Stake Center (2280 S. 300 East) and will end at Fitts Park (3050 S. 500 East).

West Bountiful activities

Grantsville will kick off its July 4th festivities on Wednesday with the Miss Grantsville Pageant at 6 p.m., a dusk until dawn tennis tournament at 8 p.m. and a 3-on-3 basketball tourney at 9 p.m.. Centerville will celebrate July 4th with several activities, starting on July 3. There will be a children's parade at 6:30 p.m., a chalk art exhibit, and fireworks at 9:45 p.m. On July 4th, activities include a 5K and kids run at 7 a.m., breakfast, parade at 9 a.m., outdoor festival and police auction. Freedom Fire 2013 - The Music of ABBA

Oakley will kick off its July 4th activities Wednesday with the Oakley PRCA Rodeo at 8 p.m. followed by fireworks. July 4 activities include a 5K race, a parade, patriotic program and barbecue, a junior rodeo, PRCA Rodeo and fireworks. The July 5 rodeo will feature Tough Enough to Wear Pink Night and fireworks. Layton City will host the annual Liberty Days Celebration. Kneaders hails the 4th

America's Freedom Festival Grand Parade

America's Freedom Festival Grand Parade, the largest of its kind in the state of Utah, highlights freedom through bands, professionally crafted floats, giant helium balloons and local and national performers. The parade begins at 960 N. University Ave. and proceeds south to 100 S. and then turns east to 200 E. From there it turns north to Center St. and then turns east and ends at 900 East. Sugar House Arts fest

Celebrate tradition and change with the Sugar House Merchants Association at the 14th annual Sugar House Fourth of July Arts Festival, from Highland Drive between 2100 South and Wilmington Ave., for arts, crafts, live music, food, and community. Featuring up to 75 art and food vendors, two live music stages, culinary arts, a children's area, and more, this event will appeal to the entire family. Sugarhouse fireworks

The Sugar House Fireworks will feature a 30-minute firework show presented by Vortex Fireworks. At noon Thursday, vendors will begin selling food, refreshments and there will be an inflatables play ground amusement for the kids. The music entertainment will begin at 4 p.m. with fireworks at 10 p.m.
