More than 1,400 people are without power in Weber County, leaving them not only in the dark but in the heat.

The outage has affected about 1,407 Rocky Mountain Power customers in Roy and Hooper, in the western area of the county, according to the company. The outage was caused by equipment damage at the local substation, and crews don't expect to have power restored until 7:30 a.m. Friday.

The temperatures in the Weber County cities remained in the low 90s as of 8 p.m.
