A woman with Alzheimer's disease who disappeared Friday from a care center was located Saturday afternoon.

Salt Lake City Lt. Carl Merino said Linda Jensen, 65, was discovered sitting on the porch of an abandoned house near 1750 West and Dale Ridge Ave. A neighbor of the abandoned home spotted Jensen just before 2:30 p.m. and notified police, Merino said.

Jensen was tired but healthy Saturday afternoon. Merino said she was not able to tell police where she went after disappearing or where she spent the night.

"We have to assume that she's just out walking," Merino added.

Jensen's disappearance sometime after 10 a.m. Friday sent police and family members scrambling to find her on one of the hottest days of the year. Her son, Brian Baker, said Jensen suffers from Alzheimer's disease and takes medication. She has spent the last two years living at the care facility, located at 1001 N. Featherstone Drive (1781 West).

Merino said she would be examined by medical personnel Saturday and then returned to the care facility, where she also will be reunited with her family.
