Salt Lake City police say a would-be good Samaritan's efforts to halt a holdup ended up with him taking a bullet.
About 1:20 p.m. Sunday, the 28-year-old man saw a fast food restaurant employee chasing a gunman near 1300 S. Swaner Road (about 2300 West). When the second man joined the chase, the suspect suddenly turned and shot at his pursuers, wounding him in the leg.
Police said the suspect described as Latino, in his mid-20s, with a slim build and wearing a blue mask, long, baggy blue shorts and a long, loose white T-shirt had just gone into the restaurant, demanded and received cash.
The second man's leg injury was not life threatening, said SLCPD Detective Rick Wall.
Anyone with information on this case is asked to call Salt Lake City police at 801-799-3000.
