Unified Police seek man-woman team in break-in, thefts

The Unified Police Department on Monday enlisted the public's help in halting a burglary and credit card fraud crime spree perpetrated by a man and woman team.

UPD Lt. Justin Hoyal said it all began June 24 with a break-in at a Riverton home. While the homeowner was mowing the lawn, the male suspect — a white 5-foot-10 male weighing about 210 pounds, with short brown hair in a Mohawk cut, tattoos on his legs and signs of a recent right forearm injury — drove into the residence's driveway.

The suspect then walked inside the home's garage, smashed the window of a vehicle parked inside and stole several items, including credit cards. The suspect fled before the homeowner could see him — but a security camera captured images of the intruder.

The suspect, with his female accomplice, since then has allegedly used the stolen credit cards at eight businesses throughout Salt Lake County. Images of both suspects were retrieved from some of those stores' security video surveillance systems.

The female suspect was described as a white, 5-foot-7 woman, about 130 pounds, with blonde or brown hair. She had a tattoo above her right ankle.

The couple were last seen riding in a 1999-2001 Subaru Impreza four-door red sports car.
