MLS: Robbie Keane hits two penalties to lifts L.A. Galaxy over Columbus Crew

Carson, Calif. • Robbie Keane converted two penalty kicks in the closing minutes, rallying the Los Angeles Galaxy to a 2-1 victory over the Columbus Crew on Thursday night.

Keane beat Crew goalkeeper Andy Gruenebaum to the lower right corner in the 85th minute and again in the second minute of stoppage to give the Galaxy just their third win in their last eight matches.

Bernardo Anor put the Crew on the scoreboard in the 78th minute, heading Federico Higuain's free kick

Rapids 2, Red Bulls 0 • In Commerce City, Colo., Nathan Sturgis scored in the 47th minute and Clint Irwin got his sixth shutout of the season.

Deshorn Brown also scored for Colorado (7-7-5), which last lost at home to New York on July 8, 2007 — improving to 4-0-1 since. New York (8-7-4) was shut out for the fifth time this season.
