Dylan's wise words

Bob Dylan, in his song "Subterranean Homesick Blues," famously said that "you don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows." Whether you like it or not, marriage equality is coming. We can either accept it and move on or, unfortunately and more likely, spend way too much money on court proceedings, demonstrations, etc. I call on our political leaders to check the winds and go with the flow.

Many of our ecclesiastical leaders are seemingly dead set against these changes. To them I would advise the principle of treating others as they wish to be accepted themselves. They should also understand that nobody is even considering telling them that they will be forced to perform marriage ceremonies for anyone.

Why can't the major religions allow people the same freedom of conscience that these institutions demand for themselves?

Will Utah reverse its one man one woman constitutional amendment this year? I doubt it, but the wind is blowing and it seems wise to seek shelter from the storm.
