A man's body was found in Big Cottonwood Creek in Murray, police said.
A passerby was walking over the creek about 1:20 p.m. Monday on the bridge at 850 E. Van Winkle Expressway when he noticed a body in the water, said Murray police spokesman Jeff Maglish. Officers confirmed the man was dead; his body was caught on some trees, Maglish said. There were no obvious injuries to his body, Maglish said. A medical examiner was trying to determine the cause of death as of Monday evening.
The man was carrying no identification and officers do not know who he is, Maglish said. The person was only partly clothed; Maglish would not describe his clothing. He appears to be in his late 20s or early 30s, Maglish said.
