Murray police have identified Seth Wyatt Brown as the man they found dead in Big Cottonwood Creek.
The 23-year-old did not have any identification on him when police found him, but the body's fingerprints matched Brown, who has a criminal record including intoxication and criminal trespass, said Murray police spokesman Jeff Maglish.
A passer-by was walking on the bridge at 850 E. Van Winkle Expressway about 1:20 p.m. Monday when he noticed a body in the water that was caught on some trees, Maglish said.
It appears Brown drowned, Maglish said. Investigators do not suspect foul play and await toxicology reports to see whether drugs or alcohol factored into his death.
Brown's last known address was in Murray, though his family told investigators that he was apparently homeless and living farther up the creek from where he was found, Maglish said.
