Salt Lake City police seek dentally challenged female bank robbery suspect

Salt Lake City police are on the lookout for a butter-fingered, middle-aged female bank robber with bad teeth and poor fashion sense.

The woman — wearing a pastel head scarf and cream-colored pants — entered the Bank of Utah branch at 711 S. State St. about 1 p.m. Monday. She approached a teller, demanded and received money, and then fled the building on foot.

However, as she ran northbound toward 200 East, the suspect dropped the money when a red dye pack secreted inside the stash exploded. That, according to police, is when two men gathered up the cash, allegedly intending to keep it.

But there is no "finders keepers" rule for bank robbery, so the two 22-year-old men — literally,"red handed" — were arrested and booked into Salt Lake County Jail on suspicion of evidence tampering.

The suspect, meanwhile, remained at large.

In addition to being 50 to 60 years old and dentally challenged, the alleged felonious female was described as being white, about 5-foot-7 and thin in build.
