Former Ute Paul Soliai, now with the Miami Dolphins, has become the latest former player to donate to Utah. On Tuesday the school announced he was donating $250,000 for the Utes' new football center.
His contribution will fund the Paul and LeTasha Soliai Player Lounge.
"They gave me the opportunity to play and as a kid from Samoa, it's something I'm thankful for every day," he said in a release. "Without the university giving me a scholarship to play the sport I love, I wouldn't be where I am today."
Soliai played in 24 games from 2005-06 for the Utes and was selected in the fourth round of the 2007 NFL Draft by Miami.
Alex Smith ($500,000), Jordan Gross ($500,000), Steve Smith ($250,000), Eric Weddle ($250,000) Brian Johnson ($50,000) and Sione Pouha ($50,000) are among the other former players who have donated to the program recently.
