Sports briefs: Devin Harris returning to Dallas Mavericks

NBA • Free agent guard Devin Harris is headed back to the Dallas Mavericks, nine years after starting his career with them as a high draft pick. Dallas star Dirk Nowitzki tweeted Tuesday that Harris was rejoining the Mavericks, who ended up with him at No. 5 overall in the 2004 draft in a deal that sent Antawn Jamison to Washington. Harris' contract is reportedly for three years and $9 million.

The 30-year-old Harris averaged 9.9 points and 3.4 assists in Atlanta last season. He spent his first 3½ seasons in Dallas and played in the 2006 NBA Finals before going to New Jersey in the trade for Jason Kidd in 2008. The Nets sent Harris to Utah when they acquired Deron Williams in 2011.

• The Golden State Warriors reached free-agent agreements with guard Toney Douglas and center Jermaine O'Neal. Douglas played for Houston and Sacramento last season, averaging 7.5 points and 2.1 assists in 18.1 minutes per game. and O'Neal played for Phoenix, averaging 8.3 points and 5.3 rebounds in 18.7 minutes per game. The Warriors are hoping the 34-year-old O'Neal can be a reliable backup to Andrew Bogut while Festus Ezeli recovers from right knee surgery.

• The Milwaukee Bucks traded forward Luc Mbah a Moute to the Sacramento Kings in exchange for a 2016 second-round draft pick. The 6-foot-8, 230-pound forward has emerged as a standout defender since he was drafted 37th overall out of UCLA by the Bucks in 2008. He has averaged 6.9 points and 5.3 rebounds in 25.1 minutes per game in his career.

Two Broncos suits face DUI charges

NFL • A second Denver Broncos executive is facing drunken driving charges, The Associated Press learned. Tom Heckert, the Broncos' recently hired director of pro personnel, was arrested in Parker, Colo., on the night of June 11 and charged with driving under the influence and careless driving, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Department. The news comes one day after Broncos director of player personnel Matt Russell apologized for his arrest over the weekend on suspicion of driving under the influence. Police said Russell's 2008 Toyota Tundra crashed into a Breckenridge police SUV on Saturday night.

• Quarterback Matthew Stafford and the Detroit Lions agreed to terms on a $53 million, three-year extension to keep him under contract through 2017.
