UDOT's manure pile

I want to thank op-ed writer Colby Poulson for his spot-on commentary ("Another Utah highway is not the answer," Opinion, July 10). His comments are the only breath of fresh air we have enjoyed for quite some time.

We can only hope now that the journalists who work for this publication and others throughout the state might get off their chairs and take their shovels to the manure pile that the Utah Department of Transportion is feeding us regarding the West Davis freeway. There is a story here that is not being reported.

Just follow the money. In fact, you will be following your readers' money being redistributed by UDOT to real estate developers and road construction companies, all at the expense of what most of us truly value: our quality of life and what little remains of our air quality.

Our attorney general can hope that a real investigation of UDOT might take the heat off him and his equally repugnant saga.
