C.J. Cron, a former University of Utah first baseman, will be the only player from the Los Angeles Angels organization in Sunday's Futures Game involving minor-league stars at Citi Field in New York.

In his third pro season since being drafted by the Angels in the first round, Cron is batting .288 with eight home runs and 57 RBIs for the Arkansas Travelers of the Double-A Texas League. He ranks fifth in the league in RBIs and seventh in batting, although his home run pace is far behind last season, when he hit 27 homers at Class-A Inland Empire.

Cron's father also will be involved in the Futures Game as a coach. Chris Cron is the manager of Double-A Erie in the Detroit system.
