The remaining intrigue of the Jazz offseason seems to be the pursuit of a veteran backup point guard and, as we have reported for a week, the team's top choice appears to still be 31-year-old John Lucas III. Marc Stein of ESPN.com tweeted that the former Toronto Raptor has informed other interested teams that he has committed to the Jazz and expects to sign a deal within the week.

Lucas' agent, Bernie Lee, declined to comment. If the Jazz do in fact sign Lucas, it will likely be for one year and the veterans' minimum.
