A woman died Monday night when her car crashed on Interstate 15 in Washington County.

The woman was driving south near Hurricane about 7 p.m. when she lost control of her Jeep Liberty, Utah Highway Patrol troopers wrote. The freeway may have been slightly wet due to showers at the time, and the road curves where the Jeep slid to the left and struck a concrete barrier, troopers wrote. The Jeep went over the barrier and rolled through the median into the left lane of northbound traffic, troopers wrote.

The driver was ejected and landed near the southbound emergency lane, troopers wrote. Investigators believe she was not wearing a safety belt. Her name, age and hometown had not been released late Monday.
