Salt Lake City detectives were finding few new leads in a suspected gang-related, drive-by shooting as of Tuesday.

Police Det. Cody Lougy said the 18-year-old victim, himself believed to be a former gang member, "has been less than cooperative with our investigators" so far.

The man was standing at the intersection of 1300 South and 500 East about 3:30 p.m. Monday when two male suspects in a car drove by and fired one shot. The victim was struck in the ankle and several hours later went to a hospital emergency room, where police were notified.

Lougy said police did have a description of the suspects' vehicle: a newer model metallic gray Nissan passenger car.

The suspect who allegedly shot the victim was described as a white male in his 20s with short dirty blonde hair. The driver of the suspect vehicle was described as a dark-skinned male, also in his 20s, with an Afro-style hair cut pulled back into a ponytail.
