A Jordan High School teacher has been charged with touching a female student inappropriately in his school office.
Travis Jefferson Gough, 30, of Herriman, was charged Tuesday with two counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor (non-intercourse), both class A misdemeanors, for incidents that occurred between Feb. 1 and May 23, according to charging documents filed in 3rd District Court.
Police allege that a 16-year-old student went into Gough's office at the school to talk to him. While there, Gough, an auto mechanics teacher, rubbed her back, put his hand on her mid-thigh, kissed her on the cheek and smacked her on the buttocks with his hand, according to charging documents.
A few weeks after the initial incident, police said the 16-year-old returned to Gough's office, and as she got up to leave, Gough reached out and grabbed her buttocks and kept his hand there for a couple of seconds before she walked away, according to charging documents.
Canyons School District spokesman Jeff Haney said Gough has since left the district.
