The Days of '47 Parade may not be as American as apple pie, but it is certainly as Utahn as green Jell-O or funeral potatoes. Floats, horses, marching bands and a quarter-million people lining the parade route — this celebration of the pioneers who arrived in the Salt Lake Valley 166 years ago is a local TV tradition.
