A hay fire billowed thick smoke into the skies of eastern Utah's Duchesne County on Thursday morning, but no injuries were reported.
A Duchesne County public safety dispatcher said the blaze, outside the tiny town of Myton on private farm property, was reported about 12:30 a.m. Thursday.
The fire was of undetermined cause, though thunderstorms and lightning had been moving through the region Wednesday evening.
About 2,000 tons of hay were believed to have been burning, with firefighters from Myton, Roosevelt and Duchesne County on the scene.
Crews had pulled back as the sun rose Thursday but were keeping watch on the blaze to make sure it did not spread.
