Salt Lake City police are asking the public's help in locating a teenaged girl missing since Tuesday.

The father of Mharina Acciaio, 16, said he last saw his daughter about 11 a.m. Tuesday when he dropped her off at the City Creek Center in downtown Salt Lake City.

When the girl did not return home later in the day as expected, her family became concerned and reported her missing.

Acciaio is described as 5-foot-2 with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black tank top, black sweat pants and pink flip-flop footwear.

SLCPD says the girl is known to frequent shopping malls, libraries and public transportation in the downtown area.

Anyone who sees her or knows her location is asked to call police at 801-799-3000.
