The Utah Highway Patrol and Lone Peak Police Department will conduct a joint sobriety checkpoint Friday night.

The checkpoint, which will operate from 8 p.m. Friday to 1 a.m. Saturday, will be located at 11000 N. Park Drive in Highland.

Police officers and troopers will check drivers for signs of alcohol or drug impairment and write citations and make arrests accordingly.

Motorists coming in and out of American Fork Canyon, Cedar Hills, Pleasant Grove and Highland via the Timpanogos Highway can expect a brief delay as a result of the checkpoint, said Lone Peak police Officer Skyler Zobell.
