Officials at The Gallivan Center have asked local nonprofit Excellence in the Community (which supports local musicians exclusively) to book not just one, but 2 concerts per month going forward.

This started in July, with the funds to do this.

In July they held two Thursday night concerts: Caleb Chapman on July 11 and Rumba Libre August 18.

Soon there will be a full schedule through fall and into spring. In addition, Excellence's Big Band Swing dances are rolling along nicely with Wasatch Jazz Project (and sometimes Caleb Chapman and team) every Tuesday except for July 30 (due to a previously scheduled event at Gallivan Center). Dance instruction starts at 7 with Robert Prather of the U of U ballroom dance team. Music starts at 7:30. These events continue all through August and as deep into September as weather allows.
