A truck crashed and rolled, spilling part of its load and closing down a section of Interstate 80 east of Salt Lake City as the Thursday morning commute got under way.
The Utah Department of Transportation said traffic was being diverted from all three westbound lanes near mile post 130 in Parleys Canyon. The detour used the freeway's Quarry Exit and then returning traffic back onto the westbound lanes past the accident scene.
By 8:30 a.m., normal traffic flow had returned to the area, UHP Cpl. Todd Johnson said.
Two people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, but other details on the accident were not immediately available.
Johnson said the large box truck rolled after striking and sliding along a concrete barrier wall.
The cause of the crash was under investigation.
