St. George police appear to be investigating a possible murder-suicide after officers found two bodies inside a home on Monday.
St. George police Sgt. Sam Despain identified the victims as 60-year-old Paul Lee Day and his wife, 47-year-old Mary Ann Day.
The two were found inside a residence near 2000 East and 200 South about 9:10 a.m. Monday.
Despain said that while an official cause for the deaths is still under investigation, a firearm appeared to have been used in both cases. Also, he confirmed police were not looking for any suspects.
Despain also confirmed Tuesday that a young adult male, the couple's son, had been living with the Days and had been questioned, but "he definitely is not a suspect or person of interest in this case."
Police are awaiting the results of autopsies and forensic testing by the Utah State Medical Examiner's Office before releasing an official cause for the deaths.
Neighbors of the Days were stunned, telling the StGeorgeUtah.com news site that the couple were "salt of the earth people."
Neighbor Tim Gee said he often saw the Days walking hand-in-hand and that they were pleasant, friendly and always willing to help with community projects.
