A 64-year-old man was upgraded to serious condition on Wednesday, the day after he sustained head injuries when a number of loading pallets fell on him at a Salt Lake City Costco warehouse.

Salt Lake City police Det. Mike Hamideh said the man, an employee in the warehouse at 5995 W. 300 South, initially had been listed in critical condition at a local hospital. The pallets tumbled onto him about 9 a.m. Tuesday.

The man's name was not being released, Hamideh said.

The accident was being investigated by the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
