Days of yesteryear

As a kid I remember sitting in a chair and listening to "The Lone Ranger" program on the radio. As I recall, the opening line was, "Return with us now to those thrilling days of yesteryear."

My wife and I are at that point in our lives now. Return to the days when people wrote letters and cards and sent them to others and talked on the telephone. The human voice is such a great device.

My wife said to me the other day that the Internet existed thousands of years ago. I said, "No, it didn't," and she said, "Sure it did. The American Indian used smoke signals to communicate."

As usual, she was right.
