The comments in the July 22 article "Fireworks loophole: Critics decry pollution exception" from people wanting to do away with fireworks made me angry. This is the United States of America. Fireworks are a part of the way we gained our independence, and we are a young country and we enjoy reminding ourselves of that fact.

Stay inside and turn on your air conditioner and let your air filters do their work. Be glad you live in a country where you can gripe and I can disagree. It took "bombs bursting in air" to win us that freedom.
