Tempo.
Utah senior linebacker/defensive end Trevor Reilly said that's the biggest change concerning Utah football from last season. Everything is faster. Everyone moves at a quicker pace on both ends of the ball.
The Utes practiced for the first time to open fall camp Monday morning.
"I thought the quarterbacks were good today," offensive coordinator Dennis Erickson said. "I thought they did a lot of good things. There's a long way to go, but people have made progress."
Utah's practice lasted roughly two hours with the first- and second-string players. The freshmen went another 30 to 45 minutes, with quarterbacks Connor Manning and Micah Thomas running through drills. The Utes will go without pads for the first five days as a part of the NCAA acclimation period. They will practice Tuesday morning on the baseball field, but practices are closed to the public.
