The process continues.

With the first day in full pads a few short practices away, Utah donned shoulder pads for the first time this season in Wednesday morning.

And while the correct term still is "fake football," the progression did add a little to the workout.

"We were able to bring a little more physicality to the equation," Utah coach Kyle Whittingham said. "We were able to tell a little more."

Whittingham singled out freshman running back Troy McCormick once again as someone who had a strong practice three days into camp. The Utes are relatively injury free, with the one notable exception being wide receiver Andre Lewis, who is nursing a strained hamstring. Whittingham praised quarterback Travis Wilson for his progression. At the same time, he challenged his starter to be better if Utah is to compete for a Pac-12 title this fall.
