Crews continued on Thursday to monitor Utah County's remote Third Water Fire, which had crept and smoldered to cover 95 acres.

The blaze, sparked by lightning on Tuesday, was moving slowly through grass and brush in a Spanish Fork Canyon section of the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest.

Fire Information Officer Kathy Jo Pollock estimated about 40 firefighters and a water-bearing helicopter were on stand-by in the event winds of 10-20 mph expected Thursday afternoon fanned the embers into an active wildfire.
