I have been critical of Tribune cartoonist Pat Bagley in the past and make no apologies therefore. But if I am to be intellectually honest, I also need to praise him when he does something as brilliant as his cartoon of last Sunday (Aug. 4).
His caricatures of the petty bureaucrats of the Utah Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, as well as his overall theme of the cartoons, were nothing less than inspired.
It is not possible for a normal person to make sense of Utah's completely irrational liquor laws, and the DABC takes advantage of that to spread ruin throughout the hospitality industry in an open and obvious power grab designed to assuage their benighted souls.
It is good to see Bagley shining a light on these serious problems.
