A tractor-trailer jack-knifed on Interstate 80 in eastern Utah on Thursday afternoon, spilling fuel onto the road and delaying traffic.
The truck lost control about 2:30 p.m. as it headed east in Summit County's Silver Creek Canyon, near Rockport State Park, according to the Utah Highway Patrol Cpl. Todd Johnson. The truck then slid into concrete barriers on the left side of the road. Johnson said the driver apparently lost control of the truck when it hit wet roads, possibly from rain.
The driver was not injured, but the impact ruptured the truck's fuel tank, spilling about 100 gallons of diesel onto the road.
Johnson said the truck was hauling frozen food.
Eastbound Interstate 80 had reopened by 6:10 p.m.
