Power outage affects thousands in Wasatch F..

A power outage is still affecting about 360 Rocky Mountain Customers, down from 8,400, along the Wasatch Front.

The company says severe weather caused the outage. The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City expected gusty winds from thunderstorms to hit the Wasatch Front through about 6 p.m. Thursday.

After restoring power to affected customers in Woods Cross and West Valley City by the evening, the reach of the outage shifted to about 1,000 customers in Murray, Midvale Sandy. Thousands of customers in Salt Lake City have been affected the whole time.

All available crews are working to repair the damage, according to Rocky Mountain Power, which said the affected areas are in zip codes 84115; 84105; 84107; 84093; 84104 and 84047.

The power was out at several TRAX stations, but only station-specific features like lights are not working — the trains were still running on time, said Utah Transit Authority spokesman Remi Barron.

There was no estimated time for when power will be completely restored. In a tweet, the company urged everyone to assume that any downed lines are still "live" and stay away from them.

Meanwhile, about 800 customers in four Box Elder County cities (Brigham City, Bear River City, Corinne and Honeyville) were without power as well. Crews fixed the problem by about 7 p.m.
