Police arrested a 25-year-old Provo man Thursday for allegedly sending pornographic pictures of himself to someone he thought was a teenage girl.

The girl was actually a detective in Virginia posing as a 14-year-old, according to a news release from the Utah County Sheriff's Office. The FBI started investigating in May and found that the Provo man had contacted the detective over cell phone, chat websites and Yahoo Messenger and allegedly sent pornographic pictures of himself, the release adds.

The FBI then contacted Utah investigators, who served a search warrant at the man's home about noon Thursday. He was not home, so they went to his parents' home in Orem and found him there.

Detectives seized his computer and found pornographic images of juveniles, according to the release.

The man was booked into the Utah County Jail on suspicion of four counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, the release adds.
