A 38-year-old man remained in extremely critical condition on Friday, the day after he veered off a Murray road and into a tree.
Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal said the man, whose name had not been released as efforts continued to notify his next of kin, may have been the same motorist reported in 911 calls to be driving recklessly moments before the 7:23 p.m. Thursday crash on 4500 South near 300 East.
The victim was the only occupant in the Chevrolet Impala. Emergency workers had to use powered extraction tools to remove the man.
Hoyal said that investigators are looking into whether the man experienced a medical crisis, since there was no evidence of drugs or alcohol being factors.
