Seven Utah contractors lose licenses in July over finances

Seven Utah contractors lost their licenses in July after being deemed financially irresponsible.

Records from the Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing show that the contractors, located in Davis, Salt Lake, Utah and Washington Counties, had their licenses revoked after they allowed licensing bonds required by law to be cancelled. The division found the action demonstrated a failure "to maintain financial responsibility."

They were among 23 contractors who were disciplined by the state licensing division in July, the largest professional group disciplined during the month.

Records show the next largest groups disciplined in July were registered nurses and unarmed private security officers, both at four. They were followed by apprentice electricians and plumbers, at three disciplinary actions each.

Overall, the state handed down sanctions to 53 professionals, ranging from revoking licenses to public reprimands.

There was one pharmacy on the list, Kohler Food Stores pharmacy in Highland. It voluntarily surrendered its license after failing to comply with probationary conditions placed on its license.
