Two children — a brother and sister — were taken to the hospital after they were hit by a pickup while crossing the street in Logan.

According to Logan Police Capt. Tyson Budge, the 10-year-old girl and 8-year-old boy were headed to the Cache County Fair with their family. They were walking southbound on a sidewalk along 400 West when they ran into an unmarked intersection at 300 South.

The driver of a pickup headed west on 300 South hit the children. Budge said there were several cars parked along the side of the road that hampered visibility; the driver reported not seeing the children until it was too late.

The children suffered injuries to their lower bodies, including some broken bones, Budge said, but the injuries were not life-threatening. They were taken via ambulance to Logan Regional Medical Center.
