Fire restrictions in southeastern Utah have been lifted, but the Interagency Fire Center stressed that other fire-safety orders remained in place elsewhere throughout the rest of the state.
Just after midnight Friday morning, restrictions expired on state, Bureau of Land Management, National Park Service and U.S. Forest Service lands in Carbon, Emery, Grand and San Juan counties.
IAFC said that monsoon moisture and accompanying acceleration on green growth has helped lower fire risks in those areas.
Still, authorities warned on Monday that the state overall remains at risk for wildfires due to drought-like conditions and hot weather. When camping, outdoor recreationists are urged to carry shovels, water and a bucket to thoroughly extinguish camp fires.
Restrictions remain place in many other areas of the state for open fires, including campfires and use of fireworks, as well as use of steel core or steel-jacketed ammunition.
A ban on fireworks use or use of exploding targets was in effect for all BLM holdings in Utah.
