Utah motorists on average are now paying the 10th highest price for gasoline in the country.
AAA Utah is reporting the average price for a gallon of regular gasoline in Utah is $3.73, a 2 cent increase from last month and 27 cents higher than a year ago.
Utah's gasoline prices are following a typical pattern for this time of year, according to Rolayne Fairclough, AAA Utah spokeswoman.
She explained that in warmer months, Utah's prices increase to the highest of the year. If the historic pattern holds, prices should start to decrease after the middle of September and then continue downward to reach the lowest marks during the winter months.
Nationally, the average price for a gallon of unleaded regular gasoline is $3.54, seven cents lower than last week and 16 cents lower than a year ago, AAA Utah reported.
