BYU is best in the West, 13th nationally, in 2012-13 men's basketball attendance

Numbers released by the NCAA on Wednesday show that BYU's men's basketball program is one of the nation's leaders in average home attendance. The Cougars are the biggest college basketball draw in the West, having averaged 15,986 fans in 18 home games during the 2012-13 season. BYU just edged UNLV for Best in the West honors, as the Rebels — coached by former BYU assistant Dave Rice — averaged 15,196. UNLV drew more fans than BYU — 334,320 to 287,750 — but had four more home games in 2012-13. Kentucky led the country with an average of 23,099 fans in 18 home games. Utah was 50th nationally, averaging 8,611 in 18 home games, and Utah State was 56th, with a 7,937 per-game average. Weber State checked in at No. 78 (6,601) and
