A truck crashed and its trailer separated and rolled early Monday on Interstate 15 near Sunset, blocking two southbound lanes for more than an hour at the height of the morning commute.

Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Jay Heslop said the driver of thetruck escaped injury in the 8:15 a.m. accident near mile post 337. The wreckage had been cleared and normal traffic flow resumed as of 9:30 a.m.

The crash, which spilled bags of concrete and fencing across the southbound lanes, backed up commuter traffic for miles, UHP said.

Also, sparks from when the trailer hit a concrete barrier wall sparked a small field fire, which was quickly extinguished by fire crews.

The cause of the accident remained under investigation.
