A belated happy birthday to Utah's most recognizable movie star, Robert Redford.

The Sundance Kid turned 77 on Sunday. He shows no signs of slowing down, though.

Redford stars in the one-man survival drama "All Is Lost," which will arrive in theaters in October after getting rave reviews at the Cannes Film Festival in May. The performance has prompted talk of a Best Actor Oscar nomination — something he's only received once before, for "The Sting" in 1973. (He, of course, has an Oscar for directing 1980's "Ordinary People." He also was nominated for directing and producing 1994's "Quiz Show," and he received an honorary Oscar in 2002.)

Next April, Redford will show up in his first superhero movie, with a prominent role in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier." Reportedly, he's playing Alexander Pierce, one of the head honchos of S.H.I.E.L.D. – and, therefore, boss of Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson).

And, of course, Redford still oversees his Sundance Institute and everything that entails.
