A 27-year-old transient was being held on $50,000 bail Monday after being arrested as a suspect in two downtown Salt Lake City holdups.
Police said the man is alleged to have first robbed a clerk at the Jade Market at 353 W. 200 South about 10:13 p.m. Saturday, and then a parking valet at the nearby P.F. Chang's restaurant at 300 South and 200 West, about 15 minutes later.
In both incidents the suspect threatened the victims with a knife before fleeing with unspecified amounts of cash.
Responding officers located the suspect a couple blocks from the crime scene, outside a homeless shelter.
He was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on suspicion of two first-degree felony counts of aggravated robbery.
