I am not and have never been a supporter of horse-drawn carriages in Salt Lake City. Now a horse has collapsed on the street from "colic"? At 1:30 in the afternoon with the temperature near 100 degrees, on pavement hotter than that, mixed in with traffic, why did the owners send this horse and carriage out? Money, of course.
People are advised in this heat to "hydrate themselves" all day. Is every two hours enough for horses' "water breaks"?
Downtown Salt Lake City is not a positive place for horse and carriage.
I sincerely hope this horse recovers and is able to retire away from the city.
