Provo • BYU's 2013-14 men's basketball schedule is now complete.

Almost a week after the Cougars released their non-conference schedule for the upcoming season, the West Coast Conference on Tuesday released the conference schedule, which has BYU opening league play on Dec. 28 at Loyola Marymount in Los Angeles.

That's a day after BYU's football team is scheduled to play in the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl in San Francisco (Dec. 27), if the Cougars are bowl eligible and not invited to play in a BCS game.

With the addition of Pacific, the WCC will feature 10 teams for the first time in its history, and the schedule will cover a 10-week span and consist of a double round-robin format.

Perhaps the most glaring aspect of the schedule for BYU is that it will play four straight road games from Jan. 16 to Jan. 25 and will go 20 days between home games (Jan. 11 vs. LMU to Feb. 1 vs. Pacific).

The Cougars have developed rivalries with Saint Mary's and Gonzaga in their first two years in the league.

They play at Gonzaga on Jan. 25 and host the Zags on Feb. 20. BYU plays host to SMC on Feb. 1 and travels to Moraga to play the Gaels on Feb. 15.

The 2014 WCC basketball championships will take place from March 6-11 at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. —
