End of The End

When 101.9 The End changed its format in 2010, I was upset. Then the same thing happened last Friday ("101.9 The End is finished; Jimmy Chunga laid off," Tribune, Aug. 16). Now I've had it.

I'm done with out-of-state corporate ties and heels deciding to produce garbage. You insulted me with your GenX stations and think I need another Oldies station.

Cumulus has pathetically hired a "super-excited" henchman cheerleader to do the dirty work of squashing programing formats that have been loved since she was in a diaper.

A company in another time zone has decided that we prefer national syndication and shoving Utah residents out of work. We don't want to support bands with Utah roots. Or laugh hard on our commute, disagree with a movie critic, be comforted by Dr. Matt, listen to ghost stories, or sit steps away from our favorite band in The End Zone. We have let them determine that personalized radio is out.

To advertisers with Cumulus: I am 38 years old, have a master's degree and make purchasing decisions. I have done business with you because of your ads on 101.9. We are watching to see if you will continue to support Cumulus. Hopefully not.

I want my station back.
