Public comments regarding Catherine Conklin's nomination to become a judge in Ogden's 2nd District Court are now being accepted.

The Utah Senate Judicial Confirmation Committee is accepting comments about Conklin, who is currently a commissioner in the 2nd District Court, until Sept. 30.

Those who wish to comment should contact Mike Christensen at the Office of Legislative Research and General Counsel, Utah State Capitol Campus, House Building, Suite W210, PO Box 145210, Salt Lake City, Utah 84114-5210. All statements should include the respondent's name, telephone number and mailing address.

The committee will also hold a public hearing regarding Conklin's nomination and issue a recommendation to the Senate prior to a final vote.

Conklin was appointed to replace 2nd District Judge Michael Lyon, who is retiring on Sept. 1.
