The Salt Lake City Film Festival will open next month with the struggles of a winless high-school basketball team in a dwindling Indiana town.

Organizers of the festival, marking its fifth year, today announced their slate — leading off with the opening-night film, the documentary "Medora," directed by Davy Rothbart, a contributor to public radio's "This American Life."

The festival will have some local flavor, with the movie "Point B," the final film starring Salt Lake City actor, producer and community organizer David Fetzer.

The event runs Sept. 26-29 at three venues: The Broadway Centre Cinemas (111 E. 300 South), the Tower Theatre (876 E. 900 South) and Brewvies Cinema Pub (667 S. 200 West).

Tickets are $5 for matinees, $10 for evening screenings. An all-inclusive pass is available for $50. Tickets can be purchased online on the festival's website, or at the Broadway from 6 to 9 p.m. starting Sept. 2.
